The Fort Macleod Early Learning & Childcare Society is a non-profit organization (Corporate Societies Act #: 5027677896) dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable, and inclusive early learning and childcare for families in Fort Macleod and the surrounding area. Founded by community members who recognized a significant need for accessible childcare—particularly for infants and toddlers, we are committed to supporting families, strengthening community wellbeing, and creating a safe, enriching environment where children can thrive.
OUR PURPOSE
Our purpose is simple: To provide nurturing, developmentally-appropriate care and early learning opportunities for children 0–5 years of age, while supporting families, early childhood educators, and contributing to the wellbeing of our community. We operate under the Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Act & Regulation and follow the FLIGHT early learning and play-based curriculum framework.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
At the Fort Macleod Early Learning & Childcare Society, we believe that children learn best when they feel safe, connected, and inspired. Early learning happens through relationships, exploration, and meaningful play, and we design every part of our environment with this in mind.
Our philosophy is grounded in four core principles:
Holistic Development
We support the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, and culturally—recognizing that each area of development is interconnected and equally important.
Play-Based Learning
We embrace play as the foundation of early learning. Through curiosity, imagination, discovery, and problem-solving, children make sense of their world and build lifelong skills.
Safe, Responsive Environments
We create spaces that feel secure, nurturing, and predictable. Our educators respond with warmth, sensitivity, and care, helping children develop confidence and a strong sense of self.
Community and Belonging
We believe children thrive when they feel they belong. We build meaningful relationships between children, families, educators, and the community, ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and connected.
